Roof of the Month: Muncie

This month’s Roof of the Month highlights a recent project completed by our Muncie location. Pete Dall, Sherriff-Goslin’s Muncie branch manager, led the project in May 2016.

“Our friends at Jeff Cline’s State Farm office in Muncie were in need of an entire new roof,” Dall said, “and they knew we were the perfect fit for the job. Like a good neighbor, we were there ready to help.”

The Project

The crew began the project by removing the old wood shake shingles, then installing nine squares of Atlas StormMaster®Slate in Weathered Slate. StormMaster shingles are manufactured with a rubberized SBS polymer, creating a more durable and longer-lasting product, and feature Scotchgard™ Protector, helping to prevent the black streaks caused by algae.

Though not large, the mansard-style roof proved to be a challenge.

“It slowed us down quite a bit,” Dall said, but the crew was able to use scaffolding to efficiently complete the job in a day and a half.

Another Job Well Done

Cline said he could not be happier with his new roof.

“The contractors of Sherriff-Goslin of Muncie did a wonderful job,” he said. “Despite a few hiccups along the way, they managed to pull off the project with quality roofing work.”
